I think, therefore I game.
From the cyberfantasy department: Emotive Systems will begin selling it’s EPOC neuroheadset later this year.
The device is described as a headset that senses emotions and thoughts and translates them for a PC. Even though it sounds like the next big thing in computing, I’ll reserve judgment until I actually see a working device. We’ve all been burned at one time or another by the “next big thing” that turns out to be the “next big scam".
Of course, we now have to ask the question: “do I really want a device that reads my thoughts and emotions"? I know some people who should answer “no” to this question… especially men. You’ve all heard about the “study” that says men think of sex every 5 seconds. Who wants a new porn site to pop up on his screen every 5 seconds?!? That might get uncomfortable at work.
There are other serious questions as well. If you aren’t very bright, does your cursor get dim too? Does it move slower that everyone else’s? or does it just move erratically? What does it mean if some other guy’s cursor is bigger than mine? Inquiring minds want to know.
