Answering the search strings
Hi.
I’d like to bring back a monthly feature that leakenova used to post for me. In it, he addressed some of the search strings that he found in my traffic logs. Every one is a string that someone typed into a query box on a search engine, then selected a link to this web site from the list of links presented to them. In other words, every one of these queries brought someone to this sight.
It was a great feature. Unfortunately, leakenova has moved on to things that keep him too busy. Even if he had the time, the log utilities have been broken for a while. So… without further adieu, here goes nuthin!
man from nantucket stella - The Man from Nantucket is a favorite around here. You would think that people would have committed it to memory by now. I’m not sure what Stella has to do with the Man from Nantucket, unless she’s the centerfold he’s looking at while… well… you know.
roadkill university - I think that should really be The Roadkill Bar and Grille. Yum! How about a bag of scrambled possum tartar to go!.
geeky screen names - We have screen names like Geekman and Shameless Geek. I have no idea how that query would bring people here.
ninja pirate pflugerville - Yep… thats him… good old Geekman. He isn’t around here anymore, but you can reach him here at his comic book and gaming store.
sims 2 psp unblurred or sims 2 unblur code or sims cheat to unblur - Its surprising how many ways people can ask a dumb question. It’s also surprising how many horny 12 year olds are out there. No doubt that there will be just as many of these queries next month. I’m waiting for the day that some genius decides to clean off the blurry spot with some kind of acid and gets overcome by the fumes.
yoshi shows you how to use a soldering iron on your mods - That sounds like a good way to get your mods badly burned. You should only let trained personnel touch your mods with a soldering iron.
alternative psp games - Try San Francisco. (What?!?! You were expecting politically correct from someone who calls himself Shameless?)
dirty jokes i can get wetting so i can turn my page - Hunh? No matter how hard I try, I can’t come up with a comment that is funnier or dumber than the query. My only advice is to refer to the “man from nantucket” entry above.
do kmart have a psp - Yep. I tinks dey do! I tinks dey have a dvd too!
gimp dualcore - That would be any dual core running Windows. Please refer to the Microsoft web page for more info.
how to know if you are a geek - If you have to ask, then you are. Congratulations. Now you need to find out what kind of geek you are.

pflugerville furries - OK… someone from Pflugerville explain this one to me. So far, all I can think about is a Texas fetish or a pet store. A quick browse of the web indicated the former.
cool - I bet the guy who queried “cool” never expected it to bring him to a place called ShamelessGeeks. I think someone at Google is drinking on the job.
a fatal error has occurred while playing tomb raider - Yeah. It was called the Eighties.
walk threw of medal of honor european assault for ps2 - The really bad thing is that I got more than one of the exact same query. Oh well… I guess this is a result of spell checkers.
Well, that about does it. I’ll try to turn this back into a regular feature. I’ve always been fascinated by the types of things that people type into a query box. I’m even more fascinated by the ones that bring them here to my humble abode. Cya next month!
